Hello,

I'm Taz, a dad, avid climber, enthusiastic wood chopper and a graphic designer with over 25 years of experience in design, advertising & marketing. Much like many designers of my generation, my career began in print but have upped my skills to encompass designing for the web, motion design and editing.

Beyond my love for Swedish steel and the great outdoors, I bring a wealth of experience to the table, ensuring every project is infused with creativity, precision and a touch of seasoned expertise.

Let's collaborate and turn your ideas into visually compelling stories

My design process

At the heart of design lies effective communication. No matter the project, it's essential to identify the message and target audience. Collaboration and clear goals pave the way for achieving this.

How I work

As a seasoned freelancer, I relish the flexibility of working directly with clients on specific projects or seamlessly integrating into agency teams. My approach prioritizes adhering to briefs rather than imposing personal styles. Each project deserves its unique identity, independent of trendy or personal preferences.

Experience

My design journey began at a small London agency catering to the film industry. I created and adapted artwork for blockbusters like Titanic and Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, while also handling conceptualization and production for smaller films. This diverse experience spanned everything from newspaper ads to video/DVD artwork.

In 2000, I ventured into the realm of mainstream advertising agencies. Two years later, I joined forces with a copywriter to form a creative powerhouse in Amsterdam. Upon returning to London, I delved into freelancing for design studios, ad agencies, and direct clients. Over the years, I've had the privilege of working with brands of all sizes, including Twentieth Century Fox, Universal Films, Film Four, Canon, KLM Airlines, Mercedes, Smart (cars), Daily Mirror Group, Coca-Cola, British Airways, Crabtree & Evelyn, and Bupa.

While working with big brands is undoubtedly gratifying, my true passion lies in empowering smaller, more nimble brands to thrive. My comprehensive skillset encompasses identity/logo design, branding, and retouching/artwork. My diverse portfolio is a testament to this versatility.

Location

I’m originally from Rochdale, Greater Manchester. I left home in 1993 and went to art college in Banbury then on to university in Stoke on Trent. . Following my graduation in 1997, I spent 17 years working in London, with a brief two-year detour to Amsterdam. In 2014,We moved to North Wales, where I operate remotely from my Pen Llyn home. I continue to serve my existing London clientele while embracing new ones locally and beyond. Having a robust internet connection and virtual meeting/coworking tools, distance is no obstacle to our collaboration.
